It' not the blowing of the wind, it is the setting of the sail. It' doesn't matter what boat you're on it matters who is in the boat with you. These are statements we often here in motivational and spirtual teachings and they become so repetitive that we often forget the depth of their meaning. But there is an insight from the boats we must keep in mind.
I don't know if you've watched any good pirate movies lately, but have you ever noticed that when the sail is hoisted or changed it takes more than one person? Storms rise in our lives and put us in the position where fear, anxiety , and panic come to the surface of our motivation. Those are the times when we need to check our sails and check who is on the boat.
Last night I had such a situation and in the midst of the panic, anger, mistrust, and misunderstanding those that were on my boat calmed me down changed my sails for me and sent them in the direction of the place I needed to go. Because of them being on my boat in the moment I was able to give 100% of me in the moment.
We as girlfriends, friends, cousins, sisters, brother's, and lovers must be aware of who we allow to speak into our lives and how we speak into each others lives. Today ask yourself this question? Who is on my boat? Whose boat am I on? Which direction is my sail set and which direction is their sail set?
